Azure Load Balancer is a network load-balancing application developed by Microsoft. It can be used to route traffic in and across regions. It works with multiple virtual machines, scale sets, and IP addresses. The app comes in three flavors. The Basic is a version geared towards small-scale applications. The Standard version enables data-driven companies to balance traffic and lower latency on their internet and private networks. The Gateway version can be used when service chaining is needed, such as a firewall, analytics, and inline DDoS.
